Inverness Monster Science Festival 2011

What is it?

A monster celebration of science and technology.

This year we are going to be DISPELLING THE MYTHS about science!
(Well, some of them, anyway ...)

Any big speakers this year?

You bet!

Renowned evolutionary biologist Richard Dawkins will be speaking at a fundraising event on 11 May; well known zoologist and broadcaster Aubrey Manning - of Earth Story fame - will be speaking on 14 June; and the UK's best known and most-quoted psychologist, Professor Richard Wiseman, will be ensuring the festival goes out with a bang on Sunday 19 June.  Plenty of other speakers and activities too!

When will it happen?

Saturday 11 to Sunday 19 June 2011 - a festival of varied science-based events and activities for schools and the public.

Where will it take place?

Our public events programme will all take place at a range of venues in and around Inverness.  As for our schools programme, that will reach into some of the farthest-flung parts of the Highlands.

How much does it cost to take part?

It is a requirement of our funding that we generate a proportion of our income from admission fees to public events (school events will be free). However, this is a strictly not-for-profit festival, so we will be keeping our prices as low as we can - just enough to cover our venue hire charges. Tickets for our fundraising event with Richard Dawkins on 11 May will be £10 for adults; all other public events will be substantially less, and some will even be free.  Full information will be on our Public Events page shortly.
